The Pear Tree


Keep your guests happy this holiday season with our newest cocktail. The Pear Tree combines, pear cider, bourbon, and (the star of the show) a homemade spiced pear simple syrup.

For this recipe we use Ace Perry Hard Cider. Ace is a California local family owned cider company that not only makes the best Pear flavored cider we have found but all their ciders are low calorie and gluten free!

INGREDIENTS (makes about 4 cocktails)

For Homemade Simple Syrup:

  • 2 Cups Water

  • 1 Bosc Pear

  • 1 tsp Honey

  • 3/4 Cup Sugar

  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon


  • 4.5 oz Bourbon

  • 9 oz Pear Cider

  • Rosemary Garnish



  1. Peeling and thinly slicing the pear

  2. To begin the simple syrup mixture: add water, pear slices, honey, and 1/4 cup of sugar to a small sauce pot over medium heat

  3. Bring to a boil for about 15 mins or until water reduces to about half

  4. Remove from heat and carefully strain out the remaining bits of pear from the simple syrup mixture

  5. Return simple syrup mixture to pot and add 1/2 cup sugar. Cook on low till sugar is fully dissolved

  6. Stir in cinnamon and let cool for at least 10 mins

  7. In a cocktail shaker over ice, pour bourbon, pear cider, and homemade simple syrup. Stir (don’t shake)

  8. Strain and pour into small cocktail (preferably a coup or martini glass).

  9. Garnish with fresh rosemary or a slice of pear and enjoy!
