About Pangloss

Planning a trip to Sonoma? Pangloss Cellars is a MUST. Located on the corner of 1st Street East and East Napa Street in Sonoma town square, it's far more than your average tasting room.  From the charming and rustic decor, to the warm and welcoming hospitality, there is so much to love about this setting.

Named after Dr. Pangloss, the eternal optimist in Voltaire's Candide,  who famously said that "mankind lives in the best of all possible worlds".  This name symbolizes their commitment to optimism as the best way to approach life.

Pangloss winemaker Erich Bradley takes an Old World and minimalist approach, using only hand-picked and hand-sorted grapes, open-top fermenters and French oak barrels. His goal is to craft small batches of elegant and accessible wines that, above all, exhibit balance and complexity.

Lounge and Cellars

Pangloss Cellars is settled in a 115-year-old historic building. After 9 months of hard work, the team at Pangloss has beautifully restored the space to it's original glory. They were recently recognized by the Sonoma League for Historic Preservation and awarded the 2016 Historic Preservation Award (well deserved). With high ceilings showcasing stunning hand-sawn wood beams, exposed original stone walls, and an olive tree growing through the middle of the building, Pangloss is more than just a tasting room; it's a true experience that will have you coming back again and again. We know we will!
