Local Eats: Terrain Garden Cafe in Palo Alto
Hello Bay Area Friends- Krista here! I have some extremely exciting news. Palo Alto has a new restaurant that I just know you will enjoy. Located at Stanford Shopping Center, Terrain Cafe is a can't miss.
Back in 2008 the first Terrain opened in my hometown of Glen Mills, PA. It has, since then, become one of my favorite places to spend time. While the Glen Mills location is the Mecca with it's greenhouses and retail store to accompany their cozy cafe, this new Palo Alto cafe will do the trick for a romantic date night or a weekend brunch with the girls. Oh but unlike the Glen Mills location- this one serves alcohol!
Terrain is owned by a company called URBN who also owns brands like Free People and Anthropologie. And just like those brands, Terrain Cafe has the same contemporary rustic garden atmosphere.
When it comes to the food, it is a bit on the pricey side but that is nothing new for the Bay Area, especially Palo Alto. Serving both lunch and dinner options, the menu ranges from Charcuterie Boards to Pan Seared Local Rockfish. One adorable quirk is that they serve their bread and butter in a warm flower pot.
