Dumpling Time

Design District - San Francisco, CA

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve most likely heard of Dumpling Time. Located in the Design District, it is hard to pass up! Even when the line is out the door, we have a hard time saying no (yes, it’s that tasty). They offer a huge range of items from pan-seared bao, to a king dum soup dumpling that is so big you need a straw! From waygu beef gyoza, to shrimp toast, we promise there’s something for everyone! AND as if they couldn’t get any better, they recently got their liquor license and are finally serving cocktails as well as sake, wine, and beer.

What you should know: Like we said, this place is well known which makes it a very popular spot. The wait times can be long on weekends and at prime meal time. To avoid the long wait, we highly recommend going as soon as they open or about an hour before they close.

Hands down the BBQ Pork Bao is our favorite menu item. We are also big fans of the Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) and Egg Yolk Buns which are not shown above.
